Brass trimming !

Another vote for the Giraud trimmer. Buy once, pay the price, use for at least the next several lifetimes - and probably saving months if not years of labour, plus very consistent case trim and neck edge finishing. Simply the best.

Why is the Giraud trimmer so expensive? Because it's worth it in terms of the labour saving

If you are looking for a lower cost option, I would consider the Trim-It II. It's a drill-mounted tool with interchangeable case inserts that cuts and chamfers at the same time.

Thank you for the link. As much as I would like the Giraud trimmer, this one looks like it will be more than adequate for my needs. I placed an order directly with the manufacturer. I added a piece and they are crediting the shipping charge on the second part. They are already packing the order.

That said, I noticed later that I could have ordered from Select Shooting Supplies. It's linked at the bottom of the eztrimit page.

Cheers!

With the Giraud trimmer you need a cutting head for each caliber that you want to trim. You also need the bushing for each case that you want to trim. For .308 and 300wm I use the same cutter head but a different bushing to set the length. For the .223AI and .223 REM you might need a different bushing but could use the same head. It also depends on how much work you want to do when changing to different calibers. If you don't mind setting things up every time you can get by with less by adjusting the cutter head to the calibre that you are trimming. Will just cost you brass as you get things set up. Once I got the unit set up it is by far the easiest way to trim brass that I have tried. You could even do it while drinking beer. Wouldn't think of doing anything else related to reloading while having a beer.

Give them a call and talk about what you want to do and they will be more than happy to help you make your decisions. Of all the long distance purchases I have made, Giraud was one of the best. Good people, told it to me straight and delivered exactly what they promised when they promised. You can find cheaper and "good enough" alternatives to what you need but Giraud will do it better and is the best choice you can make. You just have to justify what it is worth to you.
