new question from novice reloader lol. i was reading a few recipes online for 303 british and the all say to use remington cases and not federal (which i have lots of) is this a big deal if i use the federal or should i get the remington

As long as you begin at the recommended start load and watch for pressure signs as you increase, it should be fine. The only issue I've had is that some federal loads use a crimp on the primer. No issue resizing and depriming but when I went to seat new primers about 1/3 wouldn't seat. This was with 223 Rem not sure about 303 Brit... The crimp looks like a circle around the primer.

Crimped primers are easy to deal with, de-cap and clean up the crimp with a chamfer tool and you are good to go.
