Meet my new acquaintance. She's been hiding in a closet for years and now she wants to be seen.
Details: Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf a/N ; all matching ser #s (445x); non-sharpened bayonet w/ matching ser # and scabbard; flip up muzzle cap; cleaning rod; and leather sling.
The rifle appears to be unfired and the bore is clean but the exterior did/does have some surface rust. I would put the condition at + 90%.

Sorry for the glare, I'm somewhat camera inept.

I used to have one, it is one of the few that I wish I hadn't sold. Alan Lever brought them in to Canada in about 1975. They came in zinc lined cases that had never been opened. The came with all described above plus a test target. These were the zenith of military mausers.

1935

Other than mine, I've seen a couple other 1935's for sale here on the island. One I know of is asking around a grand as I recall. More often to find 1908 Brazilians which are much cheaper.

Got an unfired one in 100% shape sitting here. Can not bring myself to shoot it though. Mine did not come with any accessories though... which is a pity.

Yeah, but it is nice... the $299 Brazlian 1908 fits my budget better, though...

Where are you finding mint 1908's with accessories for $299???

Well, duh... they wouldn't be mint with accs for $299... but I know where there is at least one fairly clean, shootable Brazilian 1908 in 7x57mm for $299, though...

So, what's the difference between a "1908" and a "1935" Brazilian Mauser (assuming we are only talking about the 7x57) ?

Weren't some mint ones (in 7x57) imported from Venezuela in the mid 1970's?

Brazilian

Main difference between 1908 and 1935 I can see at a glance is the '35 has a more robust stock overall with grasping grooves, rear band is heavier/wider, Handguard a little different and all metal parts are high luster blue compared to white receiver of the '08 (personally I like). Both are 7X57.

The M954 is a $200 rifle - you got a fair price. They are Itajuba Arsenal reworks of several earlier Mauser patterns - sometimes the receiver was of german origin, sometimes not.

Nowhere near the value of an untouched 1908 or 1935.
