Brazilian Mauser Model 1935 - Dialup Beware

Nowhere near the value of an untouched 1908...

Like this one: :D

I used to have one, it is one of the few that I wish I hadn't sold. Alan Lever brought them in to Canada in about 1975. They came in zinc lined cases that had never been opened. The came with all described above plus a test target. These were the zenith of military mausers.

What did they sell for in 1975?

Anybody remember?

I seem to recall they were going for around $150 or $175. (no GST either:) ) I bought a Ruger M77 for $260 and buddy got the Mauser (with bayonet (which was promptly sharpened :( ), target and muzzle protector) for about a hundred bucks less. Couldn't afford both on a student's budget, unfortunately. :(

$120.00 taxes in at Lever Arms for the 1935 model in 1977.

By the way, I've never seen a model 1908 with a blued receiver before, are you sure it's not a model 1935?

If you're talking about mine, it's in the white. The light happens to have caught it at a weird angle.

Well, duh... they wouldn't be mint with accs for $299... but I know where there is at least one fairly clean, shootable Brazilian 1908 in 7x57mm for $299, though...

Yah I know the one you are talking about...I'd be tempted, but I like to be able to shoot what I own and that ammo is rather hard to find in our part of Canada. :)

Doesn't scare me off in the least... I already have a 'tangsafety' Ruger 77 in 7x57mm, brand new dies & a lifetime of brass... But if I had to rely on factory ammo, it would be a concern... ;)
