A thought that has been kicking around in my head off and on for awhile that you guys might he able to answer. Love the simplicity of my break action single shot 20ga. Is there anything like a single shot break action rifle that is ment for hunting? Not a crazy heavy target rifle but something you could walk with for hrs.

Break action do come around occasionally, top single shot is a Sabatti 98DL which has been replaced by a newer version and I believe Marstar deals with them. This one is in 7X57Rimmed.

The one below is a little harder to find being made by Winchester back in the mid 80’s. It’s a Grand European over/under in .270 Winchester. I believe only about 3000 we’re made and mostly for the European market with quite a few metric calibers.

Don't forget Henry!

Here are three more possible ideas to contemplate.
While not in common NA calibers , they do offer a worthy consideration and comparison to some options mentioned above.
Yes, they are spendy , but do offer traditional hunting fare from a time gone by...nostalgia even.

Many of the site sponsors sell single shots. Check the site sponsors. Various Ruger single shots. Prices vary depending on what you want. A few hundred or 1000’s can be spent on one rifle. Takes a few minutes of searching but they are available. Some can easily switch barrels others need barrels fitted. Multiple options available.

Plus, yes I know the Ruger #1 is not a true brake action, but close.

I carried a CVA in 444 last year while hunting. Then I found a new retail Ruger #1 in 450BM, and just fell in love. The CVA found a new home, and now the #1 is my primary carry this year.

CVA is the easiest to find new, and has 6.5 CM, 243, 44 mag, 444, 35 Whellen, 45/70, 360 BM, among a few other calibers I can't remember without looking them up. They are actually a nice rifle and accurate for their cost.

Most ruger #1's will be hard to find new, but they made the whole range of calibers. And really if you want to re barrel a nice one, they will not be that much to change up in caliber Yes I looked at it as well last year to make a 303 brit.
