Okay, so I wasn't hunting, I was having my morning coffee with my son, when I noticed these two characters walking up my driveway, eating the tips off my wife's birch trees...

They hung around for a fair while. I had been seeing tracks in my yard for a week or so, but had not been lucky enough to spot them until this morning.

It's nice to see moose, in my area in particular, as this area doesn't have many (I live in one of the few "draw only" moose zones).

I am so glad I don't live in the suburbs!

Awesome picture - I really enjoy wildlife watching outside of hunting season. Don't get me wrong - I really enjoy wildlife watching inside hunting season too... but sometimes it's relaxing to sort of 'bond' with these majestic beasts as they transit from place to place without shooting at them.

I'll never give up hunting though, there's such a different bond formed with an animal when you're trying to anticipate its next move...
