Breaking News From SEI

Quite easy Jay, they ship directly to your house with no hassle or no paperwork on your part. Usually takes about 2 weeks + for delivery.

I don't know exactly what's the barrel export situation with these guys.

People are telling me that their Weaver mount the 2024 model is the cat's ass. I'm glad as heck that we can get them. What a great way to do business.

Cheers,
Barney

I do not know of the $100 limit.
SEI did ship me a Weaver mount #2024 for $139 Canadian.
I followed the instructions and troque to 5 ft lbs.
My first shot at 50 yds was at 11 oclock, 6 inches high.

Canadian orders:
We are now fulfilling civilian orders to Canada for all items except sound suppressors. Approved barrel configurations for shipment to Canada are forthcoming.

Sweet!

I'm pretty happy about this, as I have a big shopping list for them. I just hope the Canadian prices will reflect our higher dollar situation.

how much would a complete m14 cost from these guys this might be what i have been looking for

A complete Smith rifle is probably not something that will be available to civilians (let alone Canadian ones) anytime soon, Smith is tied up with Military contracts, but they are at least trying to deal with civilian orders, some companies in similar positions are shipping nothing to civvies (KAC for example)

Keep in mind that there STILL are U.S .Commerce & State Dept export regulations that must be adhered to.......... in other words, there still is paper work required for items to be legally shipped out of the U.S. according to U.S. law..............

Check with the Commerce & Stste depts to confirn what is required to have parts shipped out of the U.S. into Canada.

My guess is that with the volume of overseas orders, SEI has an export permit now and can expedite there orders, legally.

Smith would certainly be in the know about the regs, and in a good position to be approved for an export permit. Thankfully they are taking the time to serve the Canadian demand for their parts. Very nice.

I just spoke to SEI and they tell me that they do NOT sell the #2024 mount directly, and that it is only available from Fulton or Brownells. She told me that have received quite a few calls lately from (disappointed/peeved) Cdns looking for this mount.

Brownells has it listed for $225US, so if anyone has one for $139 please PM me cause I'll buy it in a heartbeat! :D

Yes Brownells will sell you a base , I just ordered one two days ago. I sure don't have a import permit, and it wasn't even brought up. I was told it will take a couple weeks to get here(ON). I also called SEI and was told that they will ship to canada. The guy I spoke with said that they(#2024) are $150US and that they were out right now and to call back in a couple weeks if I wanted one. I couldn't wait that long!

As it turned out....I got a great deal. Right place right time.
As I said in my earlier post, the $139 cdn is all I paid for P/N 2024.

I did notice at the SEI web site a change on where to get that part.
Plus the cost increase. Bummer.

So far that mount is solid. No movement.
Chris
