Well gentlemen if I may add my experiences there are two other alternative you may consider as well to get greater spark. I am not familiar with the 25 cal brass method above, but is what I tried.
Just so we are all on the same page, I have an Italian made side lock carbine in 50 Cal. I have a stainless steel adaptor nipple and cap that uses 12 gauge primers. Very positive. When I “snap a cap with theses” there is enough force expelled to send empty 22 rf brass flying.
The other, is an adaptor nipple to use musket caps. Both are better alternative when using gloves. Just my 2 cents.
