Bren 2 North Sylva Restricted Imports

If you preordered from marstar, do you need to call in to cancel that? Was thinking of getting the restricted instead - but haven't decided yet.

"Checked with Calgary Shooting Center… they said $3450 for the 11”. No thanks! The pricing on these is getting ridiculous."

Only $3300 here;

https://g4cgunstore.com/product-category/cz-bren-2-ms/

And keep in mind the guns available from IRG did not come with any stock.
They sell that stock separately for like $300.

So this price is not far off of what you would have paid with IRG.
(assuming you wanted the CZ folding stock on your rifle)

Not quite accurate. Even with the added Buttstock, currency conversion, US shipping and $25 USD import fee, my pre-tax price for a 14" Bren 2 from IRG was just a hair over $3K. And they delivered within 3 weeks of posting their advertisement. IRG was a smoking good deal with a very timely delivery. I've had mine for a month now, with 5 range trips and 500 totally reliable rounds downrange. Tbe CZ Bren 2 is an excellent rifle, all aspects considered and is IMHO well worth the asking price.

If I can find one for $3K I will buy it. But not $3300 or $3450. It’s a $2K USD rifle. $2300 USD with stock. It shouldn’t be more than $3K. Someone else can have it for that price.

The "pistol" variant offered by IRG in the Restricted Barrel length of your choice, with the AR Buffer Tube Adapter Block (but no Tube), is $1,960 USD plus the IRG $25 Import Fee = $1,985 USD. At today's conversion that equals $2,560 CAD or thereabouts. Well within your pre-tax limit of $3K! Add 5% GST (not sure where you are located) and you get $2560 + $128 = $2688. When you eventually find a factory CZ Buttstock for $300 USD / $387 CAD, you simply swap out the Buffer Tube Adapter for the Buttstock. The running total puts you just over your target at $3,094.00 CAD, including $19 GST on the Buttstock. Of course, this total does not include shipping as again, we do not know where you are located.

You are welcome! Now open your wallet wide and start spending!

Enjoy this now (you provide the Buffer Tube, Buttstock and LAW Tactical Folding Adapter):

Enjoy this later (simple swap):

Yep, I think that's what I need to do. Thanks.

Hey Mark, what are your thoughts about the SwampFox ?, share some some views about it pls

I wonder if Type 81 magazines could be made to work with the 7.62x39 MM's default lower? I know it uses a custom CZ magazine, not an AK one.

For what purpose?

Someone makes the adaptor for stang mags and even a lower that takes AK mags

Bren mags are also readily available thru irunguns

Some of the reviews mentioned the 7.62x39 mm custom Bren 2 mags are harder to come by. If the Bren 2 7.62 mags are commonly available, then having Type 81 mags available is not an advantage.

Having STANAG XCR pistol magazines may or may not be factor in the future. We will see. You about be able to use five round magazines regardless.

If there is a AK mag lower or well adapter for the Bren 2 exists, it would be interesting to see if a Canadian company could make a Type 81 lower or adapter that uses the bolt hold open ability of the Type 81 magazine.
