Bren gun???????

I was reading old posts about legal versions of bren guns being made and how
the CFC would rule them????

anyone on the fourm end up getting one registered????

also would original mags fit the new guns????(modified to legal capacity of course)

I haven't heard of any semi auto's other than maybe a CA?

Trick is you need a newly manufactured receiver, don't know of anyone making them. Problem is the extensive machining required, and in the US they are allowed to simply reweld their receivers for their semi auto's.


Although if anyone knows a source for non-r or restricted brens i'd be interested.

The Bren's you are thinking of are made from rewelded receivers and not allowed in Canada.

IF there were a repro. Bren being made with an all new receiver, and IF the mechanism was accepted, then one would be non-restricted.
But those are a couple of rather big IFs.

One might consider the lower receiver group should be made to not take an original bren lower. Allot of work...

It would be an expensive project, to develop a commercially manufactured version. Might be a bit risky too..... time, effort and money with no guarantee that the end result could be marketed.
