Bren parts kit set, here in Canada??

Hello, Is there any legal issues with owing something like this in Canada??

Ima has all these crazy kits, they don't sell them to Canada yet I still I drool over them thinking how much fun they would be to re-build.

If they are legal to own ......... does any Canadian company sell them as kits for a reasonable price comparable to IMA ??

Would be a fun build.

I wish I could legally privately own a C-6 ,but that's a entirely different rant altogether for another day.

you could own a kit sure

you cant import one thru ( and us state depart wont allow export)

the problem with many of the U.S semi auto versions of full auto guns is that they use pieces of the orig reciever making them converted autos here in Canada and thus prohib

The parts are not prohibited as long as they do not include the reciever/magwel section. The problem now is that the US has banned the sale of any automatic weapon kits, so this has made the kits illegal to sell out side the US. The only kits I have seen for sale are sten kits, ppsh and a sterling. If you can find one say a sten kit it will cost you about 400+ for it. What you need to know, the rcmp considers the magwell the registerable part of any firearm, so if you go ahead and make one you have to register it, failure to do so and you get into all the prohibited laws. This is just the magwel, once you have built a firearm you must reregister it as a complete firearm, then the rcmp techs may request that you send the firearm in for testing and if they can make it fire automatic it is a prohib and will be destroyed.

I am working on a sten build, I have machine tooling which helps a lot and in the end I will likely have to build most of the parts including - the bolt, magwell, reciever, and several of the other parts.

I also envy the states and wish we had more access, but in this case it is more them then us. If we had an importer wishing to bring them in to the country this would be possible but they can not come from the states. You can thank the UN weapons treaties for this one.

It just seems funny that a parts kit for a gun originaly made in Canada would need to be imported from the states.
