Bren pics. (NOT dial-up friendly)

Man, where did you find that?

Not too many lend lease brens left. If you ever want to sell it let me know.

By the way did you know they used to put the lend lease sticker on the brens as well as the Hi powers?

They weren't "lend-lease" to the best of my knowledge. We sold them to the Nationalists.

Got your 12(3)? I won't be parting with it, in any case.:)

So..... a 2" chunk of steel would be appropriate to start with then if one was going to think about making a new SA receiver.

Next question....anyone know a source for a set of blue-prints?

NS

That and a factory with a foundry, Stamping presses, lots of jigs, milling machines, Drill presses, and other assorted VERY expensive machinery.;)

Now that is NOT the width of the original steel billet, just that of the finished product.

They were at least intended to be Lend Lease and the Canadian War Museum has one in its stock with the sticker. Also have a good look at your copy of the Bren gun saga, if you dont have it I highly recommend the book.

I have seen a few of those in Korea in 1951,taken off Chinese troops(dead or Alive).Apparently they were sent to Chiang Kiacheck 's National Army and were captured by Mao's commies and wound up shooting back at Canadian troops. We seen a lot of different stuff, Moisins ,many variants,11mm Mausers,P14s,Springfield 03s,Tokarev pistols,Mauser Broomhandle,Jap Nambu,Russian Burp guns. For some reason much of this wound up in our RCEME workshop. And several old 1915 maked brass bugles, The Chinese used them in leading some attackes.Duker
