Why mess with perfection?![]()
First, despite my comments, I have to give a credit to folks from VLTOR for bring it in production again. It’s daunting task by any yardstick. This pistol was and still is way ahead of many others. Nevertheless, we have to be realistic; as a LEO pistol I do not see very bright future. As for personal defence, not in 10 mm, too powerful. 45 ACP, yeah. 40 S&W or 357 Sig, definitely. In that respect, it will be uphill battle where there are many other excellent pistols, price has to be competitive and that means low one, with also low profit margin that goes with such price. However, why not to improve such good pistol and make it even better, aiming for higher end. And that requires higher accuracy, better sights, and if so, why not to configure it for use of some 1911 readily available parts; especially sights and possibly magazines (as far as I could recall, luck of magazines was the main culprit for Bren Ten early demise). Next, I would put undercut behind trigger guard. Also, I agree that rails should be longer, I would put them as long as slide for 5” barrel. That will give better accuracy for the same tolerances. Now, as accurate, full size pistol that could be used as hunting or outdoor gun, this is where 10 mm really shines. And how about next step; 6.5 or even 7” barrel/slide. Want one notch more; how about 40 Triton or what some call 10-08, bottle neck 10 on 308 case. In long barrel noted round should give 200 gr bullet at least 1400-1500 fps. This is what I would call perfection…
