I have found the 28 gauge absolutly deadly on anything I have used it for thus far. All manner of small game, upland birds including pheasants, and I have some non toxic loads for waterfowl to try this fall too. It is lighter weight than any 12 gauge out there bar none so at the end of the day my arms are the same length as when I started and I am not worn out from carrying it. When I take my boys along for the hunt and they want to try a shot or two it will not hurt them or scare them away from shooting in general. I use it at the trap line too, and I shoot it better than any 12 gauge I have tried at this game, usually going 20+ on singles, and 35 or better on doubles. And I can relaod for under $5 a box for PREMIUM upland loads, and about $6.50 a box for non toxic waterfowl loads. If it were legal I would use it for my turkey hunting too. THAT is how useful the 28 gauge is, my friend.
