Brenneke Black Magic slugs

Ammo export is heavily restricted in the US. Needs permits that can cost hundreds and take weeks. Most retailers ask for ID and wont sell to non-citizens. If you're caught trying to smuggle the ammo out of the country you're looking at a lifetime ban from ever entering the US again if you're lucky, a prostate exam from your cell mate if you aren't.

Here's a thought, I Run Guns LLC in the USA has lots of Brenneke products, I wonder if they can be brought in through I Run Guns.ca? I'm pretty sure I have read in threads that I Run Guns.ca has brought up ammunition.

irunguns most likely has a distribution agreement with Bernneke saying where the can and cannot sell their products. This is quite common. A great example of this is Canon and Nikon Cameras. Both manufacturers wont allow US companies to sell and ship to Canada (IE B&H Photo wont ship Nikon or Canon camera bodies to Canada, but lenses and other items are fine).

I bought a case of shells loaded with Original Brennekes from Ammo Supply.

The name on the box said "Rio Royal Brenneke" instead of "Black Magic", but it's the slug design you want, not the name on the plastic hull, right?
Check Rio's website for the specs on RBK12, and if it matches what you're looking for, then check up with Kate @ Ammo Supply. They took a while to come in, but it wasn't 6 years. :p

Brenneke is the brand, "Black Magic" is the specific round. There is a difference between regular brenneke and black magic slugs.

Brenneke is a brand name, and a slug "style". You're right, there are differences between what I bought, and Black Magic. The wad/stabilizer, and some black powder coating. I'm guessing if he has 600 gr slugs they'd be the 3" variation, too.

Regardless, the loaded ammunition I bought is sold under the Rio name, product number (as previously specified) RBK12, 2-3/4", 1-1/8 oz slug with the screwed on fibre wad and would be closest to the "Classic Magnum" line of loaded ammo that Brenneke offers.

Based on what I can see the metal parts of the slugs are all the same design (different weights, yes) with different wads/stabilizers and different colours of powder coat... oh sorry! "Clean Speed" coating! (Powder coat, cough cough).

No!

Really?

Hmmmm ... I wonder when Nullshine actually bought them Rio Royal Brenneke shells from Ammo Supply.

Well, you can stop wondering: Approximately 5 months ago.

Aha! Then there might be a Plan B. Thank you.

Some years back Rio was the licensing brand name for Brennekes to be packaged/sold in Belgium and France. I think the European nations still held a grudge towards anything German back then. But what hunter would not want to use this superior shotgun ammunition? An intelligent work around I think.
