Brenneke slugs are high-performance, German-engineered shotgun projectiles known for exceptional accuracy, deep penetration, and massive stopping power, often used for dangerous game defense and hunting. Founded in 1895, these slugs feature a unique design with a attached felt or plastic wad, allowing use in both smoothbore and rifled barrels. Popular types include the classic, Green Lightning, Black Magic, and SUPER SABOT.

Key Features and Performance Design:
Known for a hard, lead-based, ribbed design (or, in the case of the Super Sabot, a brass projectile with an aluminum tip) that ensures consistent performance.
Velocity & Energy: They often achieve high velocities, such as the 12-gauge KO at 1600 fps or the Black Magic Magnum, which delivers 2700+ ft-lbs of energy.
Versatility: Suitable for nearly all shotgun choke types, providing excellent accuracy (approx. 5 cm groups at 50m).
Protection & Hunting: Widely used by professionals for protection against large animals like bears and for hunting large game.

Popular Models
Classic Magnum: The original design, ideal for deer and bear, effective up to 70+ yards.
Green Lightning: Offers superior penetration compared to competitors, featuring 25-67% better performance.
Black Magic Magnum: A heavy 1-3/8 oz slug designed for maximum penetration, ideal for dangerous game.
Super Sabot: Specifically designed for fully rifled barrels, offering exceptional accuracy at over 100 yards.
KO (Knock Out): A faster, high-velocity, hard-hitting option.

Awww man rifled barrels only on the Magnum Crush?... those ballistics are pretty insane, would make for amazing bear medicine if I could use em in my 18.5" smooth bore...

We have tested them in smooth bores and they shoot just fine. We went through this last time they were imported.

I found this on a forum online: "Black Magic are for smooth bore guns. Magnum Crush are more powerful, but require a rifled barrel.
So I ended up calling Brenneke, and spoke with two folks. The second was on the tech side, and he said the R&D folks in Germany reported these could indeed be shot in smooth bore guns, but accuracy would suffer as distance increased. Personally, I got em more as a potential "end of the world" anti material tool, if God forbid things ever got that dire, and the applications I was imagining would not be long distance scenarios."
