I wanted to see how deep these Original Brenneke slugs would penetrate into a piece of wet fir. 7" is the result of testing 3 rounds shot into a 12" piece. I chopped them out to see how they held up, it looks like they held up good. I haven't weighed them yet to see how close to the original weight they are. They were shot from 15yrds, I also shot 3 foster style federals but the camera quit before I could get pictures, but they went in 3" before stopping.

Everyone seems to like the Brenneke's but they are hard to find.
It's interesting to look at the path of the slugs in the wood grain....look like the two Federals had a tougher path through the grain.

Right on, I mistook the 2 brennekes for federals in that first picture. What did the Federals look like?
The Brennekes look pretty good considering what they went through.

The pictures didn't turn out, but they looked like small clumps of lead. The didn't have any ribs on them and they where very distorted. They also only went in 3", I shot them at the same angle as the Brennekes in to the wood from the same distance, not very scientific but that's what I had around the camp.

They are hard to find, I only have 15 boxes of Classics and 5 boxes of RWS 3" 600 gr ones. It's a matter of keeping ones eyes open when at gun shows and sports stores, you never know what you will see.
