Brenneke shotgun slugs

The regulations and rules in this part of the universe are enough to drive one insane. Absolute stupidity on the best of days.

Yes, I think that they messed-up and you did get lucky. All the detail is in the recent posts in the Sticky at the top of this forum. NRCAN has not approved them.

I know a guy on here purchased a bunch not long after me, wonder if he got his. When I talked to Irunguns, they didnt say the Brennekes were not approved, they said other stuff was not and couldnt be imported so they had to dish out refunds. They were not sure about the Brennekes as they would have to look it up and I told him not to bother. I got my Brennekes so they may be approved. ADK will know if he ends up with a Refund. So they have to check their entire inventory now, which will take awhile and then they will only have whats approved on there USA site.

I will definitely post what happens. I suppose I'll get that last box of Black Magic, as those are sold here by other retailers. I guess I'll find out shortly about the others (SF short magnums).

I doubt they would be in any sort of trouble with DHS. The issue stems from the Canadian Government not allowing the product into Canada until its approved for sale here, not the DHS saying they cant export it. I highly doubt they were exporting anything without the appropriate US Permits and paperwork in place.

He said. She said.

Let's just see how this all unfolds ...

"I ordred and recieved 15 boxes of brenekke black magic 3 inch magnum slugs. i posted a pic with total cost and time frame in the recent purchases thread."

Why? And what/where the heck is the "recent purchases" thread?

Like ... we're talking (as another guy accurately described it) the "holy grail" of shotgun shells here. Made of unobtainium ... swaged unobtainium, even.

All my spidey senses are starting to tingle ... :)

Was on my cell phone and dunno how to do much from that thing. Here are the pics.

15 Boxes of these babys. Ordered from IRUNGUNS US website on October 10, recieved them today November 22. $352.15 shipped to my door.

Has anybody heard of a commercially available mold for this slug? Hey its worth a shot.

I don't know too much about moulds and making lead boolits/slugs, but I believe that Brenneke slugs are "swaged" from a high-antimony (very hard) lead alloy. And solid throughout. Like a miniature Lego-sized oil drum, made with depleted uranium, with a stabilizing accuracy-enhancing tail/wad.

Similarly-shaped (and apparently very accurate) normal-lead Italian non-solid slugs are used in fine shells that are made in sunny Carberry MB ...

Kate is your friend.

Reliable gun in Vancouver usually has some. Picked up a couple of boxes in October.

I talked to reliable gun before I got the black magic brennekes from Irunguns. All they had in stock was Rottweil Brennekes, of which I bought a case. Then I discovered Irunguns and ordered the black magics.

The Rottweil Brennekes are not the same as the Black Magics. The Company is Rottweil and they just use slugs for there rounds supplied by Brenneke.

What is important is the use of Brenneke slugs in whatever brand shot shells and then they are good slugs.

In European countries the word "Brenneke" is used interchangeably and is synonymous with the word "slug" if they even use the word slug. Brenneke slugs have been the best for many decades, surprising they have not made much of a presence in N. America as they have in Europe as they are no doubt the best.

The shortage is in Canada alone IMO. Brenneke USA exists.

And their market supports competition such as Dixie Slugs. In wild places such as Alaska, Brennekes are abundant, the direct opposite of this country.

I've been to Juneau during the salmon run. Brennekes always were in high demand for close protection of local shore fishermen.

But I agree with your opinion that they are the best by far. I've had the singular experience of putting one right through a wild boar. One single shot and DRT.

I just wanted to make it clear that the Rottweils are not the same as the black magics, the magics appear to be much harder. While the slug is made by Brenneke and looks the same, Im guessing there is an extra treatment process for the black magics or they are made different from scratch, not sure.
