Brenneke slugs or Sabot slugs?

My reading has indicated that the sabot slugs for a rifled barrel work in a smoothbore up to about 50 yards. Also been told by someone that spends a lot of time on this subject that they penetrate better than the slugs. the Brennekes are a bit harder than the walmart/Federal slugs and penetrate better but not as well as the sabot rounds. Apparently some of the C.O.'s in BC have been using the sabot rounds to good effect.

The C.O.'s aren't dumb, shooting a bear to early and trying to hide that fact is right up there with dragging the body of the bad guy back into the house.
 
Definitely the Brenneke or better yet the Challengers.....certainly not the Foster style. Like someone already mentioned check the point of impact and memorize it so it comes instinctively.....buckshot at close range 30 yds and less is extremely effective.....again try it out on paper so you can picture nailing it in the head/neck!!

They also fit well in 2 3/4 cases. In my tests forester type slugs penetrate the least. I havent tried any of the so called sabot slugs that use a jacketed bullet in the sabot.
