Brigade Makasi MK15 We're back in business!!

So, without falling to the partisan fear
Mongering, what’s a realistic wait time to ensure this stays unbanned?

Example if in 6 months down the line this is still available, is it safe to say it likely won’t be banned?

Maybe wait till after December 6th. If this thing arrives before end of summer and is still around on December 7th, I’d say that’s a pretty good sign..

Partisan fear Mongering? You must be new to guns in Canada.

Take a look at how many guns have been banned in the last 6 years and then tell me more about it...

Also, don't try to apply logic whatsoever to when more will be banned. Your man Gary A safety minister told you not to....

Anybody know what it'd take to swap the barrel on this thing? I've never touched an AR before, and from my understanding the MK15 doesn't necessarily use a standard gasblock or length or... Idk what I'm talking about as I'm ignorant to the platform lol. All I know is our Canadian model ships with a gov't profile barrel, which I believe is the thinnest.
Easy to change the barrel, less so to make it work. If carbine length gas and standard barrel dimensions, then many WK180 barrels would fit However, all you'd need for longer gas lengths is a longer intermediary piston section, which wouldn't be too hard to make for any competent machinist.

We don't really see a low of short stroke push rod guns with long push rods other than the old AR18, because back in the days the front sight tower, which also serves as the gas block, needs to be as far as possible for sight radius in the iron sight era. The later "New" Armalite remake AR180B with the non-aligned gas block issue created a whole bunch of non-functional guns in the first few batches when they had problem welding the trunnion plate right.

Otherwise, all the other guns from that era having long connecting piston rod ( not push rod) are long stroke like Stoner SG55X 54X.

In general, given the choice, I want a push rod in a short stroke system as short as possible for durability and more leeway in production. The short stroke system is like taking a hammer to a steel punch - the push rod is the steel punch. would you rather have a long thin steel punch or a short fat steel punch? You want it just enough to hold on to it. Any misalignment between gas block and receiver in angular distance translates to more deflection as the push rod gets longer - and then it gets sheared push rod when heat treating of the rod is not good. So any issues like the old Crusader rifle had with sheared push rod will amplify with a longer push rod design.

So in general when given the choice, makers want to make the push rod as short as possible like MCX Bren2....but the commercial market always wants longer push rod for the long hand guard and look.

also if you get a new barrel and longer gas/piston system; what handguard are you even using to cover it all up? The MK-15 does not use AR-15 handguards. It is proprietary .... from what I understand.

I'm just gonna get it...and run it as the manufacturer designed it.

I've never seen an Ejection Port Cover malfunction in any manner whatsoever. That includes over 20 years of service with the Diemaco/Colt Canada family of small arms as well as experience with my personally owned AR-style firearms. As it pertains to the Mikasi, even if the spring were to fail I am willing to bet that ejection is sufficiently forceful to push the Ejection Port Door out of the way as each empty casing is ejected. In other words, no big deal, regardless of whether or not the spring fails.
Me either …worry not

I can see some stores already are offering "pre-orders" for NRs at $2400. Tempting but it is a high risk venture for sure in the current environment.
They have been for a month. I pre-ordered 16 Apr.

No risk - no reward. No one is forcing anyone to spend money. I'm not living in fear.

I'm ready to be hurt again...lol

I’m surprised there is still pre orders left! Must be for a 2nd round of guns. Could barely get on a pre order list a month ago they were selling out so quick.
I was lucky enough to be online and see the pre-orders when they started so I got in right way 😎

The current pre-orders are definitely for a second or maybe even third batch.
