After shooting my brothers done up 10/22 this past weekend, I finally decided to order a TUF 22 from Dlask after being on the fence for the last 6 months about shooting a semi auto left handed vs buying a high end LH .22lr bolt gun.

I'm ordering it with the BX-Trigger group to get me by for the rest of spring gopher season. My brother's 10/22 has a KIDD single stage trigger and it's absolutely incredible. By far the nicest rimfire trigger I've ever shot, next to a 2 stage Anschutz trigger.

I have a hard time justifying the $300+ price for a KIDD trigger, so I was looking at sending my spare factory 10/22 trigger group down to Brimstone for a tier 2 trigger job.

My questions for the guys that have done this are, how do you go about shipping it? What is your over-all satisfaction with the trigger job and lastly, how does it compare to something like the KIDD single stage? Pbvisouly the KIDD will still be better, but I'm just wondering if it's a reasonable and cheaper alternative!

Thanks for the input CGN!

I also have a spare factory trigger from a sr-22 kicking around that I would like to try this with also.Currently have a BX in it, and although considerably better than the original factory trigger it is still a long way from 'nice'.

Gobigorgohome,

I bought a dlask/Kidd build last year. Being left handed like you, I recently put a Volquartsen oversized left hand safety in my Kidd single stage trigger, and now it feels so much more ergonomically correct. Whatever trigger you decide to go with, I recommend adding a left hand safety.
Those Kidd triggers are amazing however.

Just a note too....if you don't have a spare trigger pack Brimstone will sell you one and convert....therefore no need to send in yours.

I just sent my trigger for a Tier 1 job. Complete turn around time was just over 3 weeks.

Instructions for shipping will follow by email after your purchase.

I’m very happy with the trigger. However, I doubt a Tier 1 or 2 will be as nice as a Volkartsen or Kidd trigger.
Of course, the Brimstone is half the price of the high end triggers so IMO its a very good value.

I also sent a trigger to Dlask, they did a trigger job for 70$, and I must say its nice. Its a two-ish-stages and the pull is light and break is very clean.

If I had unlimited budget, I would go for the Kidd triggers especially if its a high end precision build.

The Brimstone is on my Takedown and its a plinking gun so I can’t justify to put a 400$ trigger in it.
If it was a precision build, that’s a different story...

I'm glad you mentioned this. I was going to go look for a LH safety here right away. Do you happen to know of any mods that help deflect the spent casings down wards instead of across your face? I've just told my self that getting this means I will need to wear safety glasses at all times when shooting, but that's not a bad habit to get into at all....

I’m haven’t heard of any mods to adjust the brass. My Dlask bolt throws them at the 1:30 o’clock position, and rarely even see brass.
I’ve noticed if I wait to long to clean, the brass pattern happens to start throwing more at the 3 o’clock position.

Where does your brothers brass go?

My brothers is a factory 10/22 receiver and a re-machined bolt fact on a factory bolt, kidd charging handle and volqartsen match chambered barrel. It tends to throw the brass right across my face or 3:00 position.

Maybe a new extractor would change the angle of brass?

I’ve only heard good things about Brimstone. My circumstance at the time made it easier to get a Kidd. Otherwise my intention was to go with Brimstone.

This is not true, Brimstone cannot sell you a trigger for export. As per my recent inquiry.

I just like last month sent a standard trigger pack to Brimstone for a Tier 2 upgrade. I had excellent communications when they received it when it was being worked on and when it was shipped back, The trigger now breaks at a nice 2.25 lbs, and with the overtravel update is very nice to use. I also have a Kidd single-stage and for the difference in price I would just go with the Brimstone job. mine turn around was 28 days from mail out to mail back.

I wonder if things changed?.....I just got a package from Brimstone 10days ago. I bought the trigger pack from them, and they modified it. I sent nothing to them.

So how do I get ahold of them to "start the process"?

Hawkrider, I see your a gentleman:)
I know sometimes answers are inconstant too depending on who you get on the phone. It's happened to me! .....and your probably correct, the new recent ITAR changes may have fixed the problem of shipping to Canada.

BB, I originally emailed them (7 weeks ago?) about shipping to Canada . They said no problem and was told to order off the website, so I just ordered as instructed ....5 weeks later got the package.
Their processing time is usually 3 weeks, but understandably Covid has affected that timeframe slightly.

Go to their website and choose the level of modification you want, tier 1 is the most modified , purchase the service, you will get an invoice via email, package with invoice and ship via Canada post, really simple.
As for purchasing a trigger pack and having work done I have no experience with that.

Thank you,
Bob

Go to Ruger parts, select trigger pack, then select opions (highlighted in blue here for you) that you want the newly purchased trigger pack to be modified (then choose which tier).
