Brimstone trigger work - BX vs stock 10/22 trigger

Thoughts on sending in a Ruger BX trigger group vs a stock normal 10/22 trigger? Brimstone Stage 2 for the normal trigger vs Brimstone BX Trigger work.

I happen to have both sets available (both new) and am trying to decide if I should keep the BX trigger stock, as is and upgrade the original 10/22 trigger group or not. Price is the same from Brimstone. If it matters this is for a takedown version 10/22 with Magpul backpacker.

Just wondering if anyone else has had to make this decision and how things turned out - of course any other thoughts about this decision are welcome too!

I have a Brimstone Tier 2. Love it. I would buy again (it was a regular trigger redone, not BX)
The Tier 2 is so nice, I am now tempted to try their Tier 1.

I just ordered the tandemcross/brimstone upgrade for the BX trigger. It's equivient to the Brimstone tier 2 trigger upgrade and is supposed to take about 10-15 mins to install. I'm waiting for it to ship and anticipate a big improvement over the stock bx trigger.
 
I had a Brimstone Tier 1 and choose the *sweet spot* trigger pull and it was a really nice trigger.

I sold it for a Kidd single stage and while the Kidd is nicer, I can’t say its much nicer, maybe except for the aluminium housing.

For the money, the Brimstone is really hard to beat.

Between the two, I would send the normal trigger and keep the BX in stock configuration.

I would definitly send the regular 10/22 trigger rather than the BX since the BX is worth more in stock configuration. I have had a Brimstone Tier 1 10/22 trigger, but not the Tier 2. I have also had an AR15 Brimstone modified trigger. Brimstone does great work.

Thanks for including the test results link - I had completely missed that somehow.
 
I installed the tandemkross trigger tonight. It took about 20 mins but I was in no rush. I followed the video on the TandemKross website.

I have the 10/22 target and assumed I had the BX trigger, but it was just a regular trigger. Prior it was around 4.5 pounds with quite alot of pretravel. After the install the trigger pull is just over 2 pounds. There is some pretravel but not anywhere like it was before. I think it's a good compromise between the stock trigger and a Kidd.

I ended up getting a new BX trigger group on sale and sent that in to Brimstone for a BX trigger job based on their recommendation. I think I will end up using this one for a more precision focused 10/22 and the other used BX I have for a field rifle. This leaves the stock new trigger for a back up or future trigger work! I have been fairly impressed with Brimstone's communication and the ordering process is really straightforward too. I am expecting mine back any day now - I think they had it for about two weeks not including shipping.
