Which rifle(s) would you like to see the manufacturers reintroduce and in what calibers?
Here are a few I'd like to see:

1. Savage 1899 in whatever they want + .250-3000
2. Mannlicher-Schoenauer carbine in whatever they want
3. Winchester 1886 in whatever plus .50-110
4. M98 Kurz Mauser in whatever they want

That is about all I can think of at the moment.

If anyone is looking for a Savage 99 in .250-3000 there is a take-down one @ Sigi's gun repair in Prince George, on consignment.

looked at it today, never seen one with the internal rotary clip before, neat :D

The rotary magazine is nice, isn't it. The Mannlicher Shoenauer M1903, M1908 and some other more obscure versions have a similar setup only smoother. It is not a cheap way to build a rifle.

Sigi is still there? I thought he would have shut down by now.

I'd like to see a stainless Winchester Model 88 with a nice brown laminate stock, 22" tube, chambered in 243, 260, 7-08, 308, 338 Federal, and 358 Win :D

Hey Kristian, how about these too:

Husqvarna 1950 high powers, especially in 9.3x62

Marlin 1893 w/full octogon bbl

And our favorite, the Brno 21H but in more calibers ie: 300 h&h

Browning trombone pump .22
Browning T-bolt high grade

Mauser type B (?) IIRC

Steven's favorite, I know it's out there now but it looks like a piece of crap.
I agree with the 1899 savages too, it would be cool if they could chamber them in the 6mm rem, 257 Roberts, 7x57 and 8x57, for that extra touch of classic cartridge and usability. Mine would have to be in a 1899C configuration, naturally with the Lyman #6 leaf sight and the tang of course.

Remmy could come out with the pump they had in the 30's too, don't remember the model, sorry.
Remington #4 single shot .22 would be neat to have too.
Remington full octogon barrel .22 pump action w/cresent butt

I will scratch my head and come up with more for sure!
Good idea for a thread !

Cheers,
Noel

Amphib, how much were they asking for the 250 T/D?

We've asked Savage 100 times and there's no way the 99 is gonna come back, the reason is that the cost is to great and it isn't enough to make a substancial profit.

It'd still be nice though wouldn't it.

Actually, Savage has a prototype in the works right now on a new lever rifle, it's not like the 99 but it's a lever, unknown what they are chambering it in, this came from a buddy who was talking to Bob Greenleaf at the factory last month.;)

if they were going to make a 'new' M99, I'd bet all my money that it wouldn't be chambered in a long action cartridge

I would like to see the old Browning Auto Five back in 16 gauge of course. As for rifles I would like to see Marlin and Winchester build the 336 and the 94 (respectively) without the gizmo safetys that they have on them now. I might even take a look at a safety free model 92 winchester in say, .454 Casull. (I don't consider the Rossi to be even close) But .44-40 would be just fine.
cheers Darryl

Noel, how could I forget the 21H?!? And the Type B is pretty much available from Mauser..but at a very steep price. Somewhere around US$6000.

YIKES! I'd have to sell my entire stash to get that one Mauser B.

Hey Joe, wasn't there a prototype 99 action you showed me on gun broker that was designed for an 06 c.o.l.? Thought it sold for a very steep price but I don't remember how high.

I have a couple more to add too:

A Huskqvarna 1100
Manlicher Schoenauer in 6.5x54 with that cool side mag.
Savage NRA .22
I would agree with Kristian that Winchester needs to come out wiht their 1886 to, with color case hardened reciever, deluxe wood in a lovely squirrel
cartridge like.......well yes, the 50-110 would be just perfect for that!

I was going to say Winchester Model 71 in 348 Winchester, but picked one up recently. I'll have to go with the following:

Savage M99F in .358 Winchester
Browning 1886 in 45-70 (without the rebounding hammer) with 26 inch octagon barrel
Browning 1886 SRC in 45-70
Browning 1885 in 45-70 with shotgun buttstock and 26 inch octagon barrel
Browning A-5 humpback shottie in 16 gauge with screw-in chokes

Just to name a few...
