This is a fun match with an interesting course of fire.

You will need a license to be in possession of the rifle(s) you bring. If you bring guests (your kids or spouse, for example) they do not need a license.

Any rifle and any caliber (except rimfire) is welcome.

223 or 5.56 is the preferred caliber because of noise concerns of the neighbours. We shoot about 130 rounds per person, per day, so 223 is also cheaper to shoot.

You do not have to use the same rifle at all ranges. You could shoot a SKS at 100, a AR-15 at 200 and your 270 hunting rifle at 300.

We shoot at 100, 200 and 300 yards. Each distance starts with a zeroing exercise. You can adjust your sights, if they are easily adjustable, or discover how much high or low to aim at each distance.

100 is shot standing. (Newbies can shoot prone.) 200 and 300 is shot prone, with the rifle rested on a shooting bag, if you like.

Entry fee is $20. Non members of the ORA pay an additional $35 guest fee to cover insurance and the cost of range staff. (We require 5 paid staff to use the range, for Beach Patrol, Range Warden and range officer.)

Email me at peelreg@gmail.com to get on the mailing list. I need your name and email address.

Everything accept 22LR is allowed. My Mosin is highly modified with a scope and stock. No problems. Some guys have AR's. Swiss K31's. Because the round count for the day is in the 140 or so people usually like to shoot milsurp ammo.

140 rounds is a lot of shooting. If you want to shoot something bigger than a 223 -go for it. It would be harder on your shoulder and wallet, but quite welcome.

Personally, I usually shoot a SKS at 100 and a 308 at 200 and 300.

Of the 30 lanes, only 5 allow the larger calibers, so there is a squadding challenge if a lot of use big guns. That is why I say 23 is preferred.

Are bipods allowed?

THIS IS MORE OF A "SHOOT" THAN A "MATCH". We do keep score and we do award prizes. The objective is for everyone to shoot whatever rifle they want and have fun.

Yes, you can use a bipod, but it would be more in keeping of the spirit of the shoot if you shot off a bag or ammo box, like everyone else.
