Ok. My wife and I are going to the USA with friends for two weeks in oct. The others are going shopping. I was going to buy a chainsaw, but the way the dollar is I am better off getting it here. Any way I am pretty much along to drive and consume beer. I was thinking of looking for just the projectiles that I need and have a hard time getting here. If I can find them. But I have been told that being a non U.S. citizen I must not be found with ammo Does that also include inert bullets. If any of you guys that cross the border a lot could chime in I would be very grateful.

Rifleman.

I know none of the stores will ship them. I've seen 180 grain .308 Nosler Partition 'blems' for 14.95 and here we are now u to around $60. for 50!

I just got a 1000. .357 , a 1000 .452 and a couple hundred .45LC brass from affordable Brass and bullets. They're located in California.

Export from the US is controlled. You cannot export yourself.
Deal with a licenced exporter or buy in Canada.

If Homeland Security catches you trying to take components out of the USA, there is a good chance that you won't be allowed to visit the USA for a very long time. They set up check stops on the USA side of the border to check for controlled items.

Canada has no problem with you bring back ammo and the such. The US treats everyone, sadly, as a terrorist. I guess being their neighbor and best friend doesn't count for much ! IMHO

There have been various reports of Canadians parking in a sporting goods store parking lot or just visiting a gun show and then getting questioned about it at the border on the way back. Big brother is watching.

Either they had a permit for your order or they shipped them without and were lucky they weren't caught. I believe each order needs a permit; a business can't just get a license to export in general.
Since it's an export restriction you shouldn't get in trouble for ordering; they will get in a lot of trouble for shipping without permits.
Of course trying to carry it across in person is another matter entirely. That's a good way to get in a lot of personal trouble if you're caught.

24 beer, 1.5 litres of wine, 40 ounces of liquor and a carton of 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 200 grams of manufactured tobacco or 200 tobacco sticks(no idea what either of those are. Chewing tobacco. I think.) if you've been away 48 hours.
Why you would bring American beer(Some of which is not beer. It has rice in it and is filtered through a great big horse.) back is another question.
Reloading equipment is ok though.

FYI the beer in Canada like Bud, Bud light, and the likes are also made with rice, its just the style. Plus you can bring beer back that you cant get here like Blue Moon.

Who remembers the beer strike in 1987 ? All you could buy was American beer, 24 cans of lone star for $5. I remember you needed to drink about eight flats to get a buzz.( that's 96 beers) :)

OK, I'll admit it. This made me laugh...

Yeah. We are going for two weeks. While they shop for stuff I might look for surplus stores and see what kind of neat stuff they have. I already told my wife that if I can find a surplus jeep I will have something to drive home. She just keeps giving me a dirty look. Like I need another set of wheels.

Blue Moon (Coors) = Rickards White (Molson). Same beer, different packaging for different countries.

American beer has come along way since '87, in the way of alcohol content. It' a cheap drunk, now!
