British 303 Lee enfield

I recently purchased 2 Parker Hales in 303 and a Churchill for $300.00. All were in good to excellent shape. ....

I think $300 is more than most people will pay for them, but in good condition, for someone who likes them and means to use them for hunting that's not too much to pay for hunting rifle. If you got all three for a total of $300, there needs to be an emoticon for "Gloating so much I'm making myself sick, but it can't be helped."

It was all three for $300.00, plus the guy threw in soft cases...
Now where is the "gloating" emoticon?

That's too bad. You must be walking around in dread of what s#*t luck the fates are spinning for you, to balance out the universe.

Absent the emoticon, you could just post some pictures.

Complete with 5 shot magazines...

And a bit of brass destined to get run through them..

Very nice. Good to see them in a good home, even if it isn't mine.

I prefer ten round magazines, because I can still fit five rounds in them. If you ever want to trade a ten round from a No.4 or No.5 for it I'll give you the five from my ParkerHale Supreme No.4.

A somewhat beat-up, slightly battered $100 Lee-Enfield takes up exactly the same rack space as a $1400 Tikka whatever with 2 grand worth of scope.

The ones I buy are the ones that are traded in and go into the back room so they don't lower the quality of the junk rack.

Sometimes it is just amazing what lurks back there...... and at prices that even I can afford.

Gun shows are good, but DO take a small flashlight and KNOW what to look for; most haven't been cleaned since the Kaiser went for tea in Holland.

"Same as the Browning Hi-Power pistols many made by Inglis IIRC, such a shame.
There have been reports about those pistols being so worn out as undesirable, but I doubt those reports are fully comprensive of inventory."

It all depends on the pistol, I've seen some that are practically smoothbore, well others are still in warstocks/never been issued condition.

Smoothbore pistols are interesting. I have have seen 9 mm handguns that have been fired 150,000 to 200,000 rounds and the rifling does not appear worn.
I have seen Mausers from China with little rifling left (possibly from cleaning drills) but with a pristine bolt face indicating the gun was seldom fired....
