Hey Everyone!

I'm new to the hunting community and I think this year, I will try my luck for a spring grizzly in BC. I was just wondering, is there even a spring grizzly hunt this year? Am I too late for the draw? I thought that the spring grizzly draw was not done at the same time as the fall draw we just passed, so maybe I missed it... I don't know, does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks so much

Me thinks someone is yankin your chain, or perhaps doesnt want the competition.

Hunters are requested to select a male Grizzly Bear.
SPRING 2008 GRIZZLY BEAR
If you have made an application for a Fall 2007 Grizzly Bear hunt, you are eligible to apply
for any of these hunts; however a successful Spring 2008 draw will make a person
ineligible to apply for a Fall 2008 Grizzly Bear hunt.
Do not submit your application for this hunt until AFTER July 31, 2007. Applications must be
received in Victoria by February 6, 2008.
Notification of draw results will be sent on or before February 20, 2008 for this hunt.
There is no open season on a less than 2-year-old Grizzly Bear, or any Grizzly Bear in its company.
Do not shoot any Grizzly Bear when observed in a family unit.
Hunters are requested to select a male Grizzly Bear.
Note the numbers listed are the actual numbers of authorizations issued for Spring 2007
and are subject to change. The actual number of authorizations to be issued for Spring
2008 will be posted on the ministry website w ww.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/index.html by
January 18, 2008.

So to make it short and sweet you have until FEB. 6 to get your application into the boys in Victoria, for SPRING Gbear.

Sorry wasnt trying to jerk anyones chain. When I got my 2007 spring grizz hunt LEH I thought I applied for it the same time as my moose. And theres enough grizz around Mackenzie areas 7-30 and 7-29 etc. So your competition is welcome. Theres 13 hunts available in 7-29 and 7 in 7-30 also 7-28 has 29 hunts available but I dont know that area. My LEH was for area 7-29 and my chances were .7 to 1 great odds. But i didnt shoot one. Got a black though.

I can't believe I'm the first one to say this...... If you're new to hunting maybe you should try something a little less toothy. Grizzly hunting makes people do some crazy things and it's not exactly the time and place to be making rookie mistakes.

Ever tracked a wounded animal? How bout one that could eat ya?

While were on the topic, i wonder, if one was to get drawn for a Grizz, what would be the most suitable caliber to use???:D:D:D:D

303 british or 30-30 were the traditional calibers for killing grizzly before the bears realized those calibers were too underpowered.
Stopping a grizzly is another thing than killing one tho...:yingyang:

I cant beleive there is a human that actualy remembers that place

The Mac was a place like the old story says; where you sit with your back to the wall. Scarey deal... of course we all went in a few times as a kids to check it out.

The Canada had a bad rep too but was actually a lot of fun for young'ns in the early 80s :) Had a lot of good times there.. Then some mo fo burned it down too.

Anyways, back to the big grimzly hunt--->
