British Special Forces 3rd Gen Integrated Upper Receiver’s from Colt Canada

Didn't you know that's a Colt Canada sales tactic.

Let us all think it's a special one time only deal; then let more of the same product out onto the market later as they see fit. This after everyone was sold (ie. 'tricked') on the idea it's was a one time only rare offer...

Don't get me wrong I love CC kit, but their sales tactics leave a lot of room for improvement.

Cheers D

Not the most ethical of business practices but it is far from uncommon. Every industry does it and only a fool would believe that a hot selling product will be limited in numbers. A business is in business to make MONEY!!! Selling out of your limited edition wonder blaster 5000 in 10 minutes is a sign that more sales are out there. Refusing to offer more wonder blaster 5000's is plain retarded. Same tactic gets employed with "while supplies last" or "pre sales" so you too can be the coolest kid on your block before anyone else. The majority of marketing is BS gimmicks designed to convince the masses to part with their hard earned cash(ok usually credit these days as most are grossly over extended).

CC makes good stuff, but the prices are out to lunch.

So what would you have the retailer do when the manufacturer is offering a new stock? Decline to retail the product?

I'm not sure who is being blamed here, the retailer or the manufacturer?

Manufacturer. Or distributor. This here is precisely why i didn't jump on board on the last batch. What were they 1800 last time? Admittedly that came with a bcg and ch but even then horrendously overpriced. Now they are 1299 for the upper. Still more than I'm willing to part with but much more reasonable. Odds are the next batch will magically be more so... I'll wait for a sales or the next batch thanks.

So you didn't even buy one and you're mad at both? Forgive me if I find that a bit comical.

:)

Nah I learned my lesson with the original iur. I jumped at the first batch. Only to have that second batch of "blemished" guns show up months later 60% of the cost.

And look at that. The same thing is slowly happening here.

I don't believe r34skyline is blaming anyone..... he is just pointing out the obvious. :)

There are only so many times you can use "limited edition", "one time sale", "never to be seen again" before this moment happens;

I bought my Colt Canada SAS 15.7 to shoot a great rifle, not for collector value. Now, having said that, CC advertised the rifle as a 'special', 'one of a kind' and I wouldn't mind having a great rifle that is a collector as advertised. Kind of sh*ty sales tactics to keep pulling that one to push your product. It's good product, no need to pull this crap. And this in no way should reflect on the great service that I have experienced from the boys at Nordic Marksman.

Thank you. I don't understand how this is so hard to understand.

If you guys want a limited gun then get an HK416 upper, that is rare hard to get. Consider ourselves lucky Nordic and Colt Canada are providing one of the best small arms manufactures rifles to the market. 10 years ago and before that we all use to dream or tried to get some of the parts from the US of Colt Canada then named "Diemaco" rifles or parts up here. Times have changed in this one area for the best. All I can say is the SAS line is ideal to me and comes in at an amazing price. If you were only to buy one AR that gun would be at the top of my list.

As for the intial launch back in the day from Colt Canada, yes that was badly done, but that was years ago, just move on and get em well you can.

You are missing the point. Saying this will be a one time thing then selling them again a few months down the road at magically lower prices out of nowhere. That's just bad business practice and doesn't do much for customer loyalty. At this point why not just sit back and wait for potential "blemished" or a 3rd run of uppers for an ever less expensive price? You know there will be a batch coming in a year.
The ones at $1800 came with CC BCG and charging handle.

$1300 for upper.
$400 for BCG (before the prices on these dropped).
$100 for charging handle.

Normal pricing. The price hasn't been reduced, they're just opting to sell them without BCG and charging handle now.

I gladly paid $1800 for the complete upper when they were available last. It was never my understanding that these were "limited time" offers when I purchased it. I was told that the SAS had yet to confirm their order quantities, and Colt Canada knew they had a surplus of complete rifles just "sitting". CC can make and replace any they sell on the civilian market here before they ship the final quantity to the SAS.

And now that doesn't cost as much. And assuming you run a non cc bcg thats in spec like a dd, lmt, bcm etc, the bcg would be around 250... and the ####ty cf charging handle not on there means you can have something better for less on there... making it... a better value.

Excluding the fact this is an IUR which are not that common to get and a reason in itself to buy one, for me if you were buying this as it was something representative of what they would be running you would think it would be critical to run everything as it came. That said most groups are allowed to tweak things a bit so you could jediwave that fact and upgrade it.

I've got one of the Dutch IURs, but really, really want one of these in 10.5" as well.

Was also wondering what the chances are of Colt Canada releasing any CANSOFCOM 11.6" IUR uppers?
