Hey there gunnuts I was rummaging around in the gun room and pulled out an old 22 I had put away about 25 years ago to clean off the dust and cobwebs and to my surprise (with a little internet search ) its a BRNO #1 with TGF on the receiver . I was going into the unloved for sale pile butttttt I may have to keep it. I remember it being a tack driver but I bought a semi auto as grouse hang out in gangs. I cant seem to find one on EE , any Idea what they are worth, or how rare they are . This one has the beach stock with the nice forend its been used by a teenager so a few minor dings but all in all pretty good shape still as the hood on the front sight. there is no date stamp but I'm guessing 1945 ish (again internet) . Any Info would be appreciated . Thanks all

I checked again to see if there was a date stamp , no dice , just a t in a circle , no date stamp. will try for a pic later.

There should be a number(65,66) on the left side of the barrel just in front of the receiver. That will be your date of manufacture. If you could post a few pictures it would be easier to throw a price out.
I've seen them as low as $300 and as high as $550 at shows in Ontario around Toronto. Not sure what TGF stands for either. Is it factory stamped or did someone engrave it into the receiver?

tgf was the code stamped on Brno Model 1 rifles used institutionally by the Czech government for training. IIRC, I've seen '49, '50 barrel dates. Been a while. Some were imported as surplus in used condition, others were refurbished to new, at Brno, and imported by Pragotrade.
Like all Brno .22 rifles, these are good ones.

It looks like it was kept in really good shape.

I wouldn't sell it, those old BRNO's are really treasured by their owners.

Thanks for the info Tiriaq , doing a little internet searching , these rifles seem to have a little mystery about them , I never thought about it before but the rifle has a coating on it like parkerizing , the other brno's I have seen don't , Hmmm any idea if this is modern or factory?
