Is this the correct butt plate for a Brno 21H. ? 1950. The height is correct. Wood is proud on both sides. Bottom hole on stock was filled and redrilled and butt plate is not centered. In the pic the screws are backed out so butt plate is centered. If this is not the correct butt plate can someone post a pic of a correct one. Thanks.

Most Brno 21H , ZG47 , butt plates were always proud very few ever had a super nice fit .

You see alot of these with replacement butt plates, presumably because the originals were terrible. This era of Brno rifles are among the best bolt action rifles ever made and they put these silly undersized butt plates on. Kinda funny.

For the record, there isn't anything I consider "silly" on the 21's. The buttplate on mine looks fine, functions fine and has stood up to 71 years of hunting use. After 70 years, wood has a habit of breathing, and a little proud (at least on mine) is hardly noticeable. In fact, I never gave it a second thought until this post. I would assume those 21's with replacement buttplates were because the plastic cracked or was badly dinged up, not because of original fitment issues.

When the 4x4 or Axis turns 71, let's compare notes.

I love my Brnos! It's really not an issue. Plus at the time, the thinking was that people would be putting on recoil pads anyway......but now with Brno rifles being highly collectible, some people want them original.

Looking for a correct original factory butt plate for my ZG47 Brno if any one might have a good non cracked one .
Thanks
