Brno 21H enthusiast club

As far as I know it is like "burn oh" with no significant emphasis on either syllable.

Very good but to simplify that its more like Br as in, Br its cold out and no as in, no its not Bruno. Its spelled exactly how its pronounced so that's why its so unforgivable to be pronouncing it wrong. I can completely understand someone saying Voere wrong and Husqvarna. But not Brno. Baikal is another one. Its spelled exactly as its sounds but people still @#$% it up.

I have a problem, I purchased a Brno 21 about 10 years ago. I put up a looking for a 6.5x55 and a guy responded said he had a 6.5x55, he sent me some pics I fell in love. I baught it and had it shipped, when I opened that box my idea of what a rifle should be changed.
It was a sweet little round receiver, brno 21 in 6.5x57 DST and butter knife bolt.
Now I have a 7x57 square and a 8x57 square. I am always looking for a full stock in any cartridge.

It’s not a 21H but I just bought a Brno 7x57. It’s a 24 inch barrelled fullstock (22F) it’s the variant with a factory round bolt handle (same style bolt handle as the ZG-47). I can’t wait for it to arrive....

This is a great thread! I have a 1950 21H with the butter knife bolt handle in 8x57. I have been shooting 180 Nosler Ballistic tips out of it for almost 20 years. Stops animals in their tracks. After almost 70 years of being in the family I think its time to give it a make over. The stock cracked on in it 2000, I had it professionally repaired and have hunted with it ever since but the job was the prettiest. I would love to have the stock refinished and the checkering on the wrist would need to be redone. Can anyone recommend where I could have this done? I'd also be interested in purchasing another 21H stock if there is one available. I am also interested in having the rifle completely re-blued does any one have a recommendation where I could have that done.

thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

I highly recommend Chris Griesbach in 3 hills

I had a 1948 model in 7x57 and stupidly sold it. It was upgraded by a Smith with a butter smooth single trigger, 3-pos swing safety and round bolt knob. It was easily MOA and a beauty to behold. Best commercial hunting rifle ever made IMHO.

22H - 20.5” barrel and half stock
22F - 20.5” barrel full stock
21H - 23” barrel half stock
21F - 23” barrel full stock

No other rifle I've found to date fits me better, or feels as 'handy' as the Brno 21/22's. Except it's equal, in the 'handling' department, the M-S.
I sure wish they still made rifles like this for the average bloke.

Yes. It has the conventional factory bolt knob which makes for easier scope clearance. Plus it has the conventional Mauser guide rib, so I can swap in another M98 bolt that I have that was colour case hardened by Oskar Kob (subject to headspace check) for some bling.
