Brno 21H enthusiast club

It's the only rifle I regretted selling, apart from a mint, unissued 1946 FN model 1930 short rifle made for the Venezuelan army. The 21H I just purchased is even nicer than my last. I also have a thing for 7x57.

I recently acquired a Brno 21h in 8x57 ,1950 manufacture ,mounted a older leupold 3x9 compact in warne high qr rings.,kelly

I mounted a new Japanese made Bushnell Elite 3500 2-7x32 (91% light transmission), which nicely clears the factory leaf sight on my 1950 21H DSB by exactly 1.5mm with Warnes high QD rings. My rifle has the factory turned down round bolt handle. A Zastava M70 bolt also works perfectly and also clears the scope... a good option for those with the much more common and more elegant butterknife style bolt handle which is less optics friendly.

I got lucky at an auction. Picked up a one of the few ZG 47's in 9.3x62 that exist in the world. I was curious about it so I sent an email to CZ's head office in Czechoslovakia. The gentleman that responded informed me that when BRNO factory was closed down all the records that it had were destroyed. He said that he has several ZG's himself and had knowledge of the ZG series. When the ZG series was introduced the first production model was in 9.3x62. After that if you wanted a 9.3x62 it had to be custom built. He couldn't recall exactly but believed that total production numbers of the 9.3x62 was less than 50.
Thought that was kinda interesting.

How of you found the open sights regulation at 100 yds?
I was out Monday with my 8x57 and it was quite high at 100 yds with S&B 196 gr,kelly

I thought the 9.3x62 was a standard offering for the ZG47. I believe the 9.3x64 was a custom order...maybe?

I was of the same opinion but I was quoting what he explained to me. The 10.75x68mm is listed as a standard offering as well but I only know of one in South Africa.
I have yet to see a 9.3x74 in a ZG 47. Would be neat to though.

Does anyone have good loads for their rifles?
I’ve got my 7mm shooting 160gr bullets into .8” groups with 46gr 4350.
But it’s very slow, it’s only going 2550fps

how far out are you seating the bullets? Brno's 7x57 rifles have a very long throat and a 30-06 length magazine. You can get much more velocity by seating your bullets out and increasing the powder charge.

Would increasing the case capacity and adding powder not just get me the same velocity but with a bullet seated longer?
