Hi guys
I have a Brno 21h with the butter knife bolt handle.

I've tried a number of scope rings but none of them are high enough to mount an old 2-7x33 Leupold scope on.
The bolt handle gets hung up on the ocular bell.
The closest I've come are some old millet rings that's 15mm high( about +-2mm too low).

Pulling my hair out trying to come up with a solution.

I'd hate to bend the bolt handle.
I do not know of anyone that makes a scope ring that's high enough anymore.
I though that perhaps shimming the rings may do the trick?

Any of you have a suggestion for something to try?
Do you know of a scope manufacturer with a smaller diameter ocular bell(smaller than 40mm)?

For the nicest job the bolt handle needs to be cut off and welded 'shorter' in height and skillfully shaped with the critical areas affected by welding re heat treated. It is not an easy job. Then use Control Bases and Rings. Pardon the poor picture quality, it's quite old... one I did 45 years ago... I no longer do them...

Would this work .. Nickel Supra

'The small ocular diameter ensures undisturbed repetition action...' according to their site; its a "Magnum 1.5-6x30" . Years ago I bought a Nickel 4x in order to get the long eye relief that they offered ... pretty good scopes imo - fwiw

(ocular is 36mm)

Hi guys
Looks like I've come right.

Lynx http:// lynx.co.za/
Makes three rings hights for Brno fifles, the highest being 15mm they also have a base that adds another 5mm,
it's going to put my scope 2cm high which is a bit higher than most people would like it but it does mean that I don't need to mangle the bolt handle on my rifle.
They'll ship airmail which is great given the state of the post office service in South Africa

I just sold my 21 h. I had a oberndorph style bolt handle installed. I wasn’t a fan of the butter knife. It really helped and I had no problem mounting a swaro 3-9x36 with cz qd rings

I used the CZ or Lynx rings with the Leupold ultralight 3x9 which has a smaller ocular diameter. Still had to file a little divot in the bolt handle where it was rubbing on the scope.
