I just picked up a BRNO model 304 12 ga v 7 x57R combo gun. I have owned many BRNO doubles, but never one in this model.

It came taken down. How does one put the bbls back into the receiver????? I cant even tell if the forearm comes off! -- there is no latch on the forearm and the forearm does not appear to want to slide forward off the bbls.

I can just about lever the bbls on, but the extractor cam on the left side catches onto the top of the receiver frame --- help!

Hi, I have the same, 7x57 & 12ga. In addition I also have a set of skeet barrels. It is a little tricky. What I do, is line up the pin on the right side of the barrels, and the same with the push button or retractable pin on the left side of the barrels, with the slots in either side of the receiver. This is with the action & barrels in almost a fully open angle but with the reciever touching the backend of the barrels. There is a spring tension in the action so now to get the final alignment, while holding the barrels firmly, put preasure on the butt stock & action assembly and push in the retractable pin on the left. With a little 'playing' around it snaps into place. Send me a PM and let me know how you make out. I have some 7x75Rimmed brass info as well. Good luck.:)

Hello to both of you. I like combination guns, and those 304's are a good value, but I never could figure out why the triggers seemed so rough and creepy. Have you worked on your triggers and are they satisfactory for rifle shooting? Does your gun allow one trigger to fire both barrels with two pulls, as I've heard some BRNO's do??

- Mine, while the trigger pull aren't 'great' they aren't too bad. I can live with them.
- I have double triggers.

I had a long telephone call last night from a fellow that owns these and a site member and he set me straight on how to do it.

The one thing I did not realize was that the breach of the receiver is spring loaded and slides back and forward, so one needs to apply pressure to the breach with the bbls while you are depressing the pivot stud in order to get enough room to mate the parts into the slots made for each of the pivot and the extractor.

That was the trick.

Thank you to those who helped.

My triggers (double- non-set) appear to break clean -- I have not shot it yet, but I will let you know.

I've had a few of these rifles. Fantastic value. The triggers have always worked flawlessly.
