A few months ago, I won an auction at Londesbouro Auctions and ended up with a Brno 4 basket case.

Well, it had a butt-plate from a Finish Valmet Target rifle "butchered" on to it; no trigger guard, no front sight, no bolt.

I was not long finding stuff after reaching out to our community, and scored a model correct trigger guard (with a bonus barrel dovetail tangent sight), a bolt and a front sight (which is to tall for the tangent sight; I have a new Williams on the way). Because of the damage done to the butt end of the stock, I had to saw 3/8" off of the end of it, but made up for it by making a Rosewood butt-plate. If I ever do get the correct one, I will make a rosewood spacer for it.

I am very happy with it, and especially the way it shoots; it is a laser-beam!

I looked at the same gun but decided to pass it up, already owning a No.4. Great job on the re-build/restore. They're excellent rifles - a number of years back I found an individual in Slovakia selling complete rear peep sight kits, and the boxes with all the front sight inserts.

Have fun, hard to beat the old Brno series of rimfire rifles.

I had some Brno bolts, guards, magazine housings etc. Sold them.
If I'd still had them, I'd have bid on that rifle.

I have a No. 4. It certainly shoots very, very well.
Also have a No.4 Action I rebarreled with a Douglas air gauged barrel and set up in a synthetic stock for metallic silhouette.
And a No.2 sporter which is also a first class shooter.

Thanks for the kind words; I love breathing new life into old, neglected guns.
