I spotted one for sale ...appears to be in excellent shape, almost new...what would be a fair price for to pay for it.
I don't know much about these critters

If it's a 511 it's a CZ 511.

If it's a Brno it's a Brno 581.

No such a thing as a Brno 511.

Well...there ya have it...I didn't know..I only know what was written on the tag...they appear to be virtually identical from what I could muster up for info on the web...thanks for the heads up.

Are they pretty good guns..are they accurate?

Great ..thanks Mike....the guns is scoped and has 2 mags with it

That's exactly what it is Ross B..identical to your pic...
The gun is in very nice shape. I would say NRA very good.

Was bought back in 84,sat in a safe for 10 years..was brought back out again for the guy's son...they fired off 50 rounds and then back in it went. He said his father was into collecting BRNO's..would just buy them and put them away.

Cz 511

I too have a line on one of these, pretty much as new. The dealer indicated to me that the new owner returned it after a week because it was jamming. He stripped it and cleaned it and the dealer too said it was still jamming a bit. He believed it just needed to be broken in and to try some different ammo. I am still considering buying it but this worries me a little. There is no doubting the feel of quality but I'm a little scared if it's a jammer. What to do? I really know nothing about these guns.

Art...I have heard the mags may need a little tweeking on the jammers....Ross B here on the site I believe has had issues like that..I am sure he will chime in shortly with some advice

If the price is good, buy it, buy a brick of solid point HV ammo and shoot s**t out of it, quite often the issues subside with break in. Doing a spring modification can help too. Before I even fired mine (I bought mine new) I cleaned it and polished any of the contact points of the action. I use VERY little lubrication for the action. Tweaking of the mags is sometimes necessary for some of these rifles, it's not difficult, if you buy the rifle you can pm me and I'll run you thru the steps. I run mine with a modified spring and it works great (allows me to shoot subsonics).
