I bought this one years ago-its a ''European ''type stock-beech I think, schnable forend, and a 26'' barrel.I had a gunsmith take the creep out of the trigger ,and its nice and crisp now. I cut the barrel to make it a bit easier to handle and put a 4X Bushnell .22 scope on it-which is fine for what I use it for-plinking and potting grouse .
My question is-how do the new CZ's compare to these older ones-better or worse? Are they as accurate-or more accurate? I like the fit of Boyds thumbhole stocks-but hesitate to put one on because of the added weight.Mine is a nice ''walking rifle'' as it is.Don't know-any opinions?

2e

As fine a 22 rimfire as has ever been made by CZ or BRNO. I have had a pair of them and sold 1 of them last spring, kept the other.Had the sear worked on the one I kept and the trigger is very crisp. No new CZ is more accurate than a well cared for 2E. FS

Thanks-I've had this one for years. The only thing that got me feeling a bit envious of the newer models was the nice walnut stocks-mine is plain beech, which I stripped down and refinished natural.Shortening the barrel made it a bit more convenient as a ''carry rifle'' too.The original 26'' barrel may have served for better accuracy with open sights, but unneccesary with a scope.I don't really see any reason for a longer barrel than 16"" on a .22-thats the point where the peak velocity is achieved and after that friction reduces it
