I'm interested in these as I have a line on one in exceptional shape but can't handle it in person. Was wondering if anyone uses one. If so how do you find the balance and opening mechanism? I read online that these guns were dual triggered but the one a buddy has is a single trigger gun. Were they made both ways? Thanks

I only have experiance with the Brno 801, Super, and Brno 500 so I can't tell you how a ZH301 will feel or handel but I can give you some background info on what a ZH Brno is.
All Brno products with the marking ZH were all mass produced and ment to be a work horse. They were sold to anyone who had a heart beat so these kind of Brnos have no collectable value. They're still well built and designed shotguns like all of Brnos products. I'm not sure about the trigger deal but my friend has a Brno Super Trap gun and it came with double triggers. An odd thing to have on a dedicated trap gun but he uses it as a field gun so its not a big issue other than its heavy to be using it as a field gun.

Dual triggers on the zh301. Front trigger shoots top barrel, the rear trigger will fire the bottom barrel then the top barrel (or vice versa?).
I have one that I love using for trap shooting (full over full), and great for hunting. I use a 20 gauge insert in one barrel and use the gun for ruffed grouse hunting.
Just make sure the trigger group stays clean because if not she'll double fire when you pull the rear trigger.

Only thing I wish was that I knew where to find spare barrels so that I can get skeet barrels for it.

Recently took a roasting in the Skeet / Trap forum on these guns and consider them a rough gem for their simplicity and being a robust workhorse. They have progressed through their changes from the 100 series - 200 series - 300 series.
The 301 would be the field gun - 302 skeeet gun and 303 trap gun.
Their are barrels out there including a set of 16 gauge and numerous rifle over shotgun combos and double rifle that all work off the same receiver. Generally an easy fit to the various receivers. The double trigger allow you to differentiate when useing the rifle / shotgun combo.

I got mine second hand and when I took it apart I found Her pretty dirty, cleaned everything but the receiver because I was worried about not knowing how to reassemble the parts.
She would double fire every 4 or 5 rounds so I took a chance and took it apart. Found it rather simple to take apart. completely cleaned it out and re-oiled. No problems since.
Well - I looked a buying one recently. Being an owner of Brno rifles, I had a natural interest. I did quite a bit of research, including handling one. I liked the single trigger features. Cosmetically, the action seemed a bit bulky and complex, otherwise it seemed fine. Noticed they are generally furnished with tight chokes, and chromed bores, and I wanted something with open chokes.
In the end I went with an older Citori with open chokes, for about 25% more coin - it was the right decision for me.
