I have a Brno Model 1 and a Model 2...and I've owned another Model 1 and a Model 4......every Brno 22 I've seen has the year of mfg on the left side of the barrel....except my Model 1....it has a T in a circle on the barrel and on the receiver as well as Z7 in an oval on the receiver...serial # is 3###X

any idea what year it was built?

Rembo:

Got this off rimfirecentral.

Model 1: .22 LR, 22.75 in barrel, 3-leaf (tri-leaf) sight, 5 shot lip mag., checkered pistol, 6lbs, mfg. 1946-1957.

Some of the model #1 were training rifles and didn't have the regular stamping.

Main diff. between the 2 models is triggers and barrel length. #2 have better wood and easier trigger adjustment.

top pic model #1, second is a #2 with shortened barrel and sights removed.
the rest are #2s and CZ's----Cowboy

As you can see in the pics I like the bushnell 4X12X40AO scopes. I have been using the Lynx high rings because med rings will not clear the bolt handle and the bell touches the rear sight and they're under $50. I imagine your rings are med are they? Shoot me a PM with details and price anyways-----Cowboy

So what's with the brno that SIR is selling? Is this a different variation of the "Brno" company? It's the Brno Model ZKM452D

the dates are wrong on the Model #2....1946-1957 is for the Model #1...my Model #2 is dated 1972....Model #2 must be 1958 to ???

Here is more info, not sure where I got it from:

** Model 1: .22 LR, 22.75 in barrel, 3-leaf (tri-leaf) sight, 5 shot lip mag., checkered pistol, 6lbs, mfg. 1946-1957. (many have 2 way
adjustable triggers, but not all. Safety is similar but slightly different to modern ZKM-452's)

** Model 2: similar to model 1, with checkered deluxe walnut stock.

** Model 3: .22 LR, target rifle model with 27.5" heavy barrel, adj click target sights, 5 shot clip mag, plain target style stock with
large swivel mounts, 9.5 lbs. Mfg. 1949-1956 (adjustable triggers) (I have never seen one of these yet)

** Model 4: similar to Model 3, except has improved trigger design & safety. Mfg. 1957-1973

** Model 5: similar to Model 1, except has the improved trigger design & safety. Mfg. 1957-1973.

In my opinion this list is not accurate and in many respects makes no sense. The problem I have is the info on #2 and #5. There is way more differences in a #1 and #2 than whats listed. The #2 has way longer barrel, different sights, different trigger and stock. Look in the picture I posted, the top model is a #1 and the 3rd from top is a #2(dated76). These charts and info are coming from rimfirecentral and I think alot is not know about brno models 1-5. I think more of these guns are in Canada and NZ and Australia. I wish someone could write a really accurate book so we could answer these questions with certainty.----Cowboy

It looks like CZ put together some guns from spare Brno parts in the 70's. I have one proof stamped 74 and cowboy has one stamped 76. And it appears that these guns do not have a 16mm dovetail like the Brno rimfires have.
It's talked about here...
