Well Kevan, I think the cheek piece and around the wrist, is more than "strangely similar."
The cheek piece also has that nice forward slope on the top and a bit on the side, which greatly eases the effect of recoil. When I was shooting yours, fireforming the brass to 8mm, I thought it had very low felt recoil for the cartridge size.
I just sent pics to a fellow nutter...we'll see what happens, and should I really shoot a 257 Roberts in the Improved? Wife and I both threw up our hands over photo bucket, and dial- up.

I've started researching WHERE the Original Owner of the 257 Improved Lived...Apparently he was in Oil Business, and went from Kentucky to Texas, to Alberta, to Ontario...I'm still working on it. And KAMLOOPY did buy the rifle, so you boys in the west may get to see it yet. Respectfully, and thanks for all the support...Deer Dr
A true gunnut would fireform one in the basement to show his fellow cranks.
Just sayin...
You'd be amazed how much complaining you get from your better half when you do that. Or maybe you wouldn't. - dan
The stock looks very Fajen, doesn't it?
