Anyone have some info on a Brno ZK47 in 7x57??
Have to go look at one that a older gentleman is wanting to sell .
The rifle has a scope on it , has been hunted with so not has a few well earned marks on it .
The stock has a glossy looking finish on it by the looks of the pictures ,so don't know if it has been refinished or if that's a factory finish . Its been in storage for the last 30+ years
Thanks for anyone that can supply some info and $$ value .

Standard barrel or lightweight? Gloss or matte receiver? Any extra holes on the action bridges and overall condition will go a long way to help with a value. A lightweight 7x57 in good shape is a wonderful rifle!

I’ve had a ZG47 chambered in 7x57, in the full-length rifle configuration and, more recently, found one in the carbine configuration. The carbine is my “holy grail” deer rifle, a joy to carry, handy, beautiful classic rifle.

Many have metal ground off bolt for scope clearance. Familiarize yourself with the appearance of an unaltered one.

I paid 1450 for mine several years ago. It's unaltered with beautiful metal and a nice tiger striped stock. The finish on the stock is coming off a bit but it's still a very nice rifle. Run of the mill ones in common chamberings (none are all that "common" as only about 20k ZG-47's were ever built) seem to sell near the 1k mark. Less if they've been messed with. Harder to find chamberings like 8x64, 9.3x62 or the 7x57 you are looking at definitely command a premium.

They are thought of by many as the pinnacle of M98 development and are high quality rifles. If you can, post some pics. I'd like to see it.

This gun is pretty cheap in Europe, affordable for not so rich hunters, pretty decent gun.

Thanks guys for the info , will be seeing the rifle this weekend and will get some good pictures of it and post them .

No sure what type of rings and bases they are , but they look like they fit real nice

The rear base doesn't engage the recoil lug cut into the rear bridge. Did this gun get drilled and tapped or has the rear bridge been modified under the mounts? Sometimes a divot was milled in as a recoil stop for some mounts.
