BRNO ZKK602 Advice

Can't be a ZKK602 then because the three factory offerings for the gun was .300H&H, .375H&H, and 458WM. That gun was completely designed around the H&H cartridge.

The factory ZKK 602 rifles were chambered in 300 Win Mag, 8X68, 358 Norma Mag, 375 H&H, 404 Jeffrey, and 458 Winchester. I sold dozens of them in Hougens Sportslodge in the early 1970s.

I never saw one in 300 H&H, and certainly do not remember them being available. I have seen several in 300 Win.

My one regret is that I did not get one in 404 when I had the opportunity. Could have had it for cost....."Why would anyone want one of those?"

Did a google search, for a .300wm ZKK602. The first two, one from gun broker is a total custom rifle build. The second on youtube another custom rifle build. But then the third one on a South Africa buy and sell website has one and it looks to be a legit factory Brno ZKK 602 in .300WM. So I stand corrected.

I apologize gents.

IIRC supercub had one in 300 win for awhile
I did have one of those. I found it dirt cheap at the LGS so grabbed it. I quickly realized it was far too heavy for the chambering and offered it for sale. When no takers appeared, I had the bbl removed and sold the lock stock and barrel separately at a nice profit.

Ron smith could have turned that into a pretty nifty 404 Jeffrey!

That would knock the racoon off the wood pile...

I have a 1987 vintage 602 in 300 Win Mag and a 1967 vintage 358 NM, they are heavy, but I love BRNO and CZ's
Love to have a 602 in 404, while I wait to get my custom 404 done built!

Slimbo and 8x68,
You mentioned having a peep sight.
Mine (in .458 WM) has the "Express style" flip-up leaf sight.

Value?
Very little use, perhaps 100 rounds at the most.

I have 602 in 375HH I haven’t fired in ten yeas since lately I gravitate to smaller calibers. Have to say it still remains my favorited gun and will stay with me for long time to come. I think fair price today would be 1000-1200. I would recommend to you not to sell it but in my case there is little nostalgia since I was born in Brno. In any case they are great guns and as far I’m concerned I like them better then the now 550.

Hi Tootall
Without the scope & rings probably around $1200-$1300.

I worked with a guy from Brno.
He can remember as a kid, walking to school past the factory.

I know a guy who worked in the factory from 1978 - 1984. He was the one who told me the gun was made in three original calibers of .300H&H, .375H&H, and .458WM. He told me what ZKK means and why Brno shotguns commonly have chips in their ribs and other things. Z in ZKK is for Zbrojovka. KK are the last names of the two brothers who designed the gun. So anytime you see a Brno name like for example, ZP-149, P is the last name of the person who designed the gun. This naming pattern exists with Russian made guns as well as Serbian/Yugo guns.
