On page 221 is mentions this rifle.

Chamberings were restricted to 218 Bee, 22 Hornet or 222 Remington, but guns accepting anything other than 22 Hornet are extremely rare: production was small.
While not in itself definitive, it confirms something I heard from a friend who used to work for Brno when I asked him last year about 465's in 218 Bees specifically. (BTW, I have NEVER come across someone that knows Brno's better and still has MANY contacts with the OLD engineers and factory workers etc...still in Czech Republic as they are all Czech.)

Quote:
The Brno made lot of rifles mostly in small batches – Custom Label is different calibers which fit action and hold pressure.
I saw some different calibers based on .22 Hornet in my friends collection.. Brno managers managed to get some of the manufacturing overruns
And they new that it will be one shot and rarity later.. I can’t remember what calibers they were.. but they were based on .22 Hornet ZKW action..
I will try find some details..

That all said, I have still never seen let alone held either caliber in real life. I had also heard of a factory built 465 Mannlicher..never saw one until last year. I bid on it and lost it at the last minute due to internet problems. Here it is....still breaks my heart to think about as I would have sacrificed a dozen others I had to buy it.

Would .22 K Hornet add or subtract from this guns value?
I'm pretty sure this would not be from the factory conversion.

Any variation form original will subtract from the value. That said, any ZKW 465 is a helluva nice little gun to carry and shoot so if you where just looking for a shooter model I’d be all over it!

Depend if the buyer is a shooter, probably a plus... as it's supposed to increase brass life.
- If found that going to Liltlegun also increase brass life (and get good accuracy)

yep- ive heard that bottlenecking the cartridges aids in brass life over the 22hornet, at the end of the day with either 22 hornet or variant, its a reloader only round, so not really hampered by many of the choices out there, of course re sale or value is altered.... but havin a nice little swift shooter is a dandy

My first was in "K", my second was the factory chambering which I believe were marked 5.6 x36 Ho. The European round had a slightly thicker rim if I recall, so there was always a bit of a headspace issue until the case was fireformed. Wonderful rifles, although I did find the front trigger a bit of a reach for my stubby fingers...

One just sold at Epps, nice shape, $1399.00

Are they generally that expensive? I haven't looked at 465 prices for a long time. Depends on condition I suppose.

A few decades back, I owned a Brno Fox Model 2 (the cheaper follow-up to the 465) in .22 Hornet K Hornet and it was probably the most consistently accurate rifle I have ever owned. Whether with factory loads or with my handloads, it was always one-hole groups at 100 yards. I almost kept it but the lack of craftsmanship in the construction and finishing of the rifle bugged me.
