On page 221 is mentions this rifle.
Quote:
Chamberings were restricted to 218 Bee, 22 Hornet or 222 Remington, but guns accepting anything other than 22 Hornet are extremely rare: production was small.
While not in itself definitive, it confirms something I heard from a friend who used to work for Brno when I asked him last year about 465's in 218 Bees specifically. (BTW, I have NEVER come across someone that knows Brno's better and still has MANY contacts with the OLD engineers and factory workers etc...still in Czech Republic as they are all Czech.)
Quote:
The Brno made lot of rifles mostly in small batches – Custom Label is different calibers which fit action and hold pressure.
I saw some different calibers based on .22 Hornet in my friends collection.. Brno managers managed to get some of the manufacturing overruns
And they new that it will be one shot and rarity later.. I can’t remember what calibers they were.. but they were based on .22 Hornet ZKW action..
I will try find some details..
That all said, I have still never seen let alone held either caliber in real life. I had also heard of a factory built 465 Mannlicher..never saw one until last year. I bid on it and lost it at the last minute due to internet problems. Here it is....still breaks my heart to think about as I would have sacrificed a dozen others I had to buy it.
