Brno zkw 465 did they only come in 22 hornet ? what wildcats do you guys have in it?

I have a K-Hornet, bought it off an old guy that used it to shoot beavers on a golf course. I've taken gophers, skunks, coyotes and a deer with it.

.22 hornets were quite popular with some of my relatives for poaching, they were Ranchers and Farmers, and still lived off the land for the most part. They had savage 340’s I remember, and one Cooeye single shot shotgun rebarreled to .22 Hornet. Brno 465’s were expensive even back then. I think a lot of Brno 465’s and 21/22’s were bought by veterans of ww2 they had disposable income.

Finally found it.

Do you think there are really 20 rounds in the box (as it says on the box in the photo) or 50 like Epps claims....five dollars a shot?...or $2. a shot?

I emailed them for clarification.

I wrote to Epps twice but got no reply on the ammo. Which is just as well. I finally bought myself a Brno 465 Hornet, a nice minty one, but found out that I just didn't like it. I didn't like the feel of the rifle, didn't like the way the bolt cycled, didn't even like the feel of the set triggers (and I have several other rifles with DSTs that I do like)...just couldn't warm up to it...so I moved it along to someone who did appreciate it.

Wow. I have never herd anyone say that regarding a 465.

I know what you mean...I thought (imagined?) that I had good memories of the few that I had handled in gunstores a few decades back and of course, I was also influenced by all the praise that I have heard from present-day owners of the 465, but it just didn't pan out for me. In general I am fond of early Brno firearms (my personal all-purpose .22 is a Brno Model 5 and my personal all-purpose hunting rifle is a Brno ZKK 600), but I just didn't care for the 465. In terms of fit and finish it did not compare with my mid-50's Sako L46 fullstock .222 Rem. and in terms of (very subjective) personal appeal it wasn't even close.

Would .22 K Hornet add or subtract from this guns value?
I'm pretty sure this would not be from the factory conversion.

All depends what kind of lunatic in on the other side of the deal. Some guys wouldn't touch a K-Hornet with a ten-foot pole and others would eat it up.
