Yep. You read it right. I broke it.

From day one, the handle didn't screw squarely into that bottom link piece.

Because of that, the lock nut wouldn't lock down squarely onto it.
Anyway, yesterday, I was cleaning up and noticed that a small crack has developed.
You can see where I tightened the locknut down on the link and it only tightened
down on one side. I put the handle in the left hole to show the gap.

I guessing that it didn't quite lay right when they put it into the jig
to drill the holes.

Anyway, I've email RCBS with these pics. We'll see what hapens. I don't want to
ship the whole damned press to them because that's about half the purchase
price of a new one. Anyway, we'll see what hapens.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with their Rockchucker Supreme???

There is definitely something out of spec there as the holes don't appear to have been bored square to the mating surface. RCBS will come good for it I am sure.

Phone them at 1-800-533-5000. They will most likely just have you send in the broken part or just send the new part without having you do anything. You will not have to send back the entire press.

RCBS is known for the best customer service in the business, they will bend over backwards to make it right. Their products don't usually require customer service, but, i think you are about to see how most outfits should operate!!

Yup...looks cross threaded. Even if it is, I bet RCBS will be good for it. Their warranty and customer service are legendary. I am living proof that they even warranty against owner/operator error.

I'm a have 4 trade licences. Motor vehicle technician, heavy truck and coach technician, powered lift truck technician, and industrial millwright. I currently work in heavy off road equipment maintenance which includes everything from electric pallet jacks to 200,000lb Fantuzzi container handlers to self errecting construction cranes.

It's not cross threaded. :D

Day one. No response to my email as of 3:52pm MT.

The handle on my RC is the same, perhaps even more so. It's not cross threaded it's just not bored straight to the face of that link. So far no problems after quite a few years but I have no doubt RCBS would stand behind it if it breaks. I've contemplated making a tapered shim that would let the nut lock squarely for it but haven't got to it yet.

I broke a pin on my RS3 about 18 months ago, 21 years after I bought it. I phoned RCBS offered to buy a new pin and they sent me one free. Can't beat that.

What is the e-mail of the customer service of RCBS? I do not speak too well in english so i prefer written communication.
Thanx

Got a response today. They're going to make me mail the cracked piece.

Hi Dennis:
Return the cracked piece to us for replacement under our warranty program. Have a great day!

I was kind of hoping that they would just send me a new one. I can still use it left handed.....all be it a lot slower. Oh well. I guess I had better make up a bunch of stuff before "taking her down for maintenance".
