Shooting my Webley MK4 in S&W 38 on the weekend. Ammo was too hot and was sticking in chamber. I reefed on the barrel to pop the extractor open and I think something broke. The extractor no longer opens on opening.

Did I break a part or is there soemthing I can do? I don't see how the extractor is cammed by looking at the outside of the gun. Have not yet taken it apart.

Most likely Part # 45 (extractor lever) is broke.

For God's sake, take EXTRA care when reloading ammo for ANY Webley. They are not as strong as modern solid frame revolvers. You are lucky, no kaboom, this time. This warning applies also for 455 MK VI converted to 45AR if you are shooting standard 45 ACP ammo. For a while, you can get away with such practice, but this outcome is inevitable sooner or later; http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?t=13438
