The owner of this Gevarm is looking for a new receiver.

I can't remember- is the serial number on the receiver or on the barrel on this model?

Would the "box bolt" and/or receiver be the controlled part or the barrel if the s/n is on the barrel?

Is it likely that he'd find a good "box bolt" or unlikely as any disabled Gevarm E1 would likely have the same issue?

Hi I was on Milarms Edmonton wed site and it said they had a reciever for a E1, worth the phone call to see if they still have it and how much

Price is on their web site .
$250 for receiver only ! Laugh2

What's a " box bolt "

Look at the parts pic, part 11/3. Box Bolt in French.

Yes, it sounds ridiculous but that is what the maker of the rifle apparently called it.

The gent who is looking for the part called it that.

$250 is way too much for that part.

So, if the serial number is on both receiver and barrel, then the receiver would be a controlled part no?

Mine cracked in exactly the same spot as well. That was 25 years ago and dispite my like for the open bolt, I would'nt buy another one.

Probably not worth repairing. The price of good used ones keeps going up, so even if you do find a receiver for sale it will likely be cost prohibitive.

On the E1 the serial number is on the THE FACE OF THE RECEIVER as shown in this photo of mine - NOT on the breech end of the barrel as I first reported.

I've been too lazy to strip the barrel and action out of my other Gevarm models to check for their serial numbers possiby being out of sight as well.

I have 3 E1's & only one has the ser# in the same place as your photo
All 3 have it on the barrel though

MY ERROR on that photo above, AND I have edited it.

ALSO, I removed the forestock from my E1 and could not find ANY hint of a serial number anyplace on the barrel.

If anyone else needs that Gevarm piece with exploded view, parts list etc.,- in French only - that's one I emailed another owner a long time ago. I have the full-size, double page pamphlet I email scans of.
