So I started reloading for the first time today, opened up my EE bought 8mm Lee reloading dies and knoticed that the depriming pin was bent. I looked a bit closer and it actually had a crack in it... I poked it and it fell off!!

So, I'm pretty sure the dies are long past their two year warranty, is it worth it to contact and ship lee the pin and neck sizing ball, and pay for the repairs or replacement, or would you recommend just forgetting it and trying to pick up the part at a local place?

Also - can the pins themselves be replaced like in the rcbs system? Doesn't look like it, but I thought I'd ask.

Hmm, I had heard that, but I read this on their site:

Guarantee and Repair policy

Lee reloading products are unconditionally guaranteed not to wear out or break from normal use for two full years or they will be repaired or replaced at no charge if returned to the factory.

Our lifetime conditional guarantee states that any Lee product of current manufacture, regardless of age or condition, will be reconditioned to new, including a new guarantee if returned to the factory with payment equal to half the current retail price.

Another option is to send the product of any age back to the factory for repair. Labor is free and you are charged only for any parts that are necessary to get your product functioning properly.

Our address is:

Lee Precision, Inc.
4275 Highway "U"
Hartford, WI 53027
(262) 673-3075

If they'll replace it, I just send them a letter with the pin inside, and return address and they'll do the rest?

Usually i don't want to wait the 3 weeks or so that it takes, so for something that inexpensive, I just buy one and get back atter'.

You can sometimes buy replacement depriming pins in sporting goods stores. I think there are two diameters so be sure you get the correct size. Failing that, mike the pin and buy a length of drill rod of the same diameter and cut off a piece, round the ends and voila you have a replacement pin plus 30+ spares. I think there is an Acklands Granger in Victoria; call them; they should carry drill rod.

I can see how to use the drill rod in the RCBS dies, but on this one it looks like the pin is pretty well permanently fitted...

There's nothing other than metal friction or crimping to hold it in, so I'm not sure how I'd even get it out for starters, or keep the new one in there after.

Email them a picture of the broken part and they will most likely ask for your address and send a new one without you having to mail the piece back. They did for me when I broke my press last year.

the lee pin is GUARENTEED almost unbreakable- -li just got out my latest catalogue and things have changed since my previous post-that's why i changed it- anyway, it's still only a couple of bucks even if you do have to pay for it
