I'm sure Ottawa would say the following:

"You must separate the broken pieces, and put each one into a separate locked container or device. While doing so, you must wear a full haz-mat suit (with respirator) so as not to breathe in the "high capacity bug" that infests such objects as defined by Physicians for Gun Control."
You'd be well advised to not just inform your local police that you are transporting said objects to a specially equipped landfill or smelter, but Health Canada as well---they may have additional requirements over and above that of Bill C-68. Your vechile must display haz-mat signs that say "I'm a dangerous gun owner" while in transport in a vechile that's preferably hermetically sealed. You also need a police or private security escourt to ensure the quickest non stop route to the said disposal site....
