Ok I find this very odd that this even happened in the first place...

This common for such a war horse?

First day out with a new (to me) '44 izzy 91/30, appears near mint and unissued. First shot, perfect without issues. Load up 5 in the mag, and on the last round (#6 in total).... go to cycle the bolt and it falls right out. Put it away and when I got home to see what was going on the trigger leaf was in 2 pieces.

So is this a common thing? Hope it wouldn't be as now the rifle will not fire. And second. .... where can I get a replacment?

Not common but it does happen. The spring is quite hard (45 HRC) but the the problem is the very thin ~10 um "quench rind" which is much harder still. Small imperfections, like the grinding marks left during finishing, concentrate bending stresses. Cracks develop in the hard case and propagate along these grind marks.
You can get replacements on EBAY with some difficulty. Many US sellers will not export this part. Liberty Tree will not export this part. A few US sellers will export and parts come up from Russia, Ukraine and Finland from time to time.
This is a fairly in demand part because the easiest way to break this part is to follow the many YouTube "trigger improvement" videos. Free bending to improve the trigger weight is a pretty good gamble that you will need a replacement.

That's because the real Canadian way to lighten the trigger is to shim it with an expired Health Card ;)

OP put up a WTB add on the EE, honest it's the first thing I do whenever I need a part before I start searching on the internet for one. I have had very high success with finding Mosin parts this way because of the sheer volume of them in this country.

You broke trigger spring of Mosin rifle, comrade??? Off to Gulag with you!!!! :d

I'd try Marstar, I know they have parts for Mosin rifles, they might have that trigger spring you need.
